Your Cheap Hotel in Hong Kong Awaits

If you’re looking for a cheap hotel in Hong Kong then we’ve got you covered. When we say cheap we refer not to quality but to price. Regarding quality, quite the contrary actually, as we have found some great accommodations for what we feel are fair prices. Finding a cheap hotel in Hong Kong can be a time-consuming affair, which is why we’ve picked out the very best options at equally great pricing. Before you locate your cheap hotel in Hong Kong, though, let’s take a look at some background information on the area itself.

Hong Kong, officially the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China, sits on the Pearl River estuary in southern China. One of the most densely populated places in the world, Hong Kong’s population is around 7.5 million people. In 1842, Hong Kong became a colony of the British Empire, which influenced the area’s significant economic expansion. The territory was transferred to China in 1997 and became a special administrative region with a separate governing and economic system than that of mainland China. Hong Kong has the largest number of skyscrapers of any city in the world.

The city’s summers are hot and humid whereas winters are mild and typically sunny. Snowfall is rare. Hong Kong benefits from a capitalist mixed service economy, with low taxation and minimal government market intervention, emphasizing economic liberty and the rule of law. Over half the city’s population identifies themselves as “Hongkongers” while only around 10 percent consider themselves “Chinese”. Restaurants, nightlife, cinema, music, business and sports are Hong Kong’s main draws. Major points of interest include the International Commerce Centre, Two International Finance Centre, Flagstaff House, Tin Hau Temple, Ping Shan Heritage Trail, Lui Seng Chun, Blue House, Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Avenue of Stars, the University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Happy Valley Racecourse and Hong Kong Stadium, to name a few. Three forms of gambling are legal in Hong Kong, lottery, horse and football betting. In mid-2019 protests known as the Anti-Extradition Law Amendment Bill (or Anti-ELAB) movement ensued, though travel advisories increased only slightly. Now that you have a good handle on the city’s background information, let’s find you a cheap hotel in Hong Kong.

  1. I’ve always wanted to visit Hong Kong on vacation, maybe mainland China as well but I’m admittedly worried about the Communist government there. With all the protests in Hong Kong right now how do you think it would affect a vacation there? Would a cheap hotel in Hong Kong be available away from the strife? Or would it be relatively okay for tourists to move around and not get caught up in the protesting on the streets? Thanks for any advice you can offer me on a good cheap hotel in Hong Kong. Appreciate it.

  2. Hi

It is great to know that Hong Kong was colonized by the British and that it has the highest number of skyscrapers. I see in some movies how beautiful this city is. Looking at the view you provided proved that to be true. In my map, one of the places I would love to visit is Hong Kong. I’ve never been there before and do not have anyone who has. I just love the view. I initially thought that a beautiful city like this will cost a fortune to find a hotel.

The hotel prices are quite cheap. They look beautiful and have view. Please, which of these hotels is closest to the airport?

Thanks for sharing this beautiful culture.

  3. Hi,

This is extremely helpful as I am going to Hong Kong early in 2021. We are already looking to book our flights and hotel to ensure we have everything in place as I know HK is extremely popular.

I love the fact that you have told us what is nearby to the hotel, almost like a tour of the local area in one article. Impressive. Your list of hotels and apartments give me everything I need to start to formulate a plan of where I’m staying and where I can go during the day and evening.

    Many Thanks

  4. When you visit an Asian location like China or Hongkong, it is best to maximize your Asian travel experience by staying in hotels with truly Asian ambiance. Don’t check-in at hotels that mimic European styles but rather with hotels that have designs native to Asians. In this regard, I’ll go for SuiteDream Boutique Apartment and Butterfly on Wellington Boutique Hotel Central. Among the cheap hotels in Hongkong list here, these two have the most Asian in nature, in design and ambiance.

  10. Hello!

Hong Kong is a very beautiful city (as a matter of fact, it’s similar to a state). Many tall buildings – after all, you tell us it has the largest number of skyscrapers in the world – and their hotels have wonderful insights like in Tsing Fung Street and Tung Lo Wan Road – in my opinion these two, along with Morrison Hill Road, offer the most beautiful looks.

That yellowish mirror in Tsing Fung (I hope I spelled it correctly) is lovely! A fascinating color that would make a tourist hire that room with pleasure. In Hong Kong there are lots of things to see.

    Best regards,

    Peter

    1. Peter thank you for the insights on Hong Kong and great observation with the yellowish mirror. It’s a very unique look indeed 🙂
